Mimi emailed me the other day with a fabulous idea she come up with called Dona nobis pacem in the Blogosphere. After recent nuclear tests in North Korea, Another plane hitting a building in NYC, mayhem in Iraq and all the other problems around the world, Mimi's idea is to have a "World Peace" day on Nov 7 2006. She may not be able to achieve complete world peace (I wish she could), but she is making a start by trying to have a day of peace in the Bloggersphere.

Welcome to the new template at A World of Bloggers. I hope to have made it a bit more user friendly. I have moved the countries / Territories list to the sidebar for better access. You can now also click directly to countries starting with each letter.

I will continue to post new links for the week on the right each week, but eventually they will fall off into the achives.

Bestest Blog Re-run Sunday

It's been seven and a half weeks since Bobby Griffin awarded this site Bestest Blog of the Day. At the time, only four countries/territories had been filled and only a few friends linked in the sidebar. Since then the blog has grown spectacularly, and there are now 35 bloggers listed amongst the countries/territories and another 57 blogs amongst the 'friends'.

I have a fair way to go to achieve my goal yet. There are 247 countries/territories listed below, which means there are still 212 places to fill. It may take a long time to achieve that goal, but I don't mind, as it has been a fun journey so far, and I have met many new wonderful friends from around the world in the Bloggersphere. If you haven't met them already you will find their blogs below and to the right.

Thanks to Frank Sirianni, I now have a graphic available that you are welcome to use on yourblog. If you would like to add a bit of colour to your blog and graphically (pun) show your membership at A World of Bloggers, just cut and paste the following html code into your template somewhere and remove the two“---“ from the code:

Links Removed Due to Suspected Fraud

After some investigation I have decided to remove the links to "The Jokes Blog", "Quotations on Education", "The Great Pyramid of Giza", and will not accept links to "Quotations by Albert Einstein".

Reason: Although these are supposed to be from bloggers in India, Nepal, Egypt and Italy, the evidence I have suggests they are all the same person.

If I am wrong please send me an email with an ISP email address from your resident countries. I will be happy to publicly apologise on this blog and reinclude your link.

1000 Viewers to A World of Bloggers

Yesterday my sitemeter clicked over 1000 unique visitors from around the world. I am proud that so many people have come to check out a world of bloggers since its inception just over two weeks ago.

I have really enjoyed reading each and every blog that has been interested in A World of Bloggers, but there are still many countries / territories to be filled.

I have also recently learned about the power of linking (Good and bad, eh Lizza?!), and still welcome link exchanges to the sidebar if your country / territory has already been filled.

To keep the momentum of the blog rolling, I will start posting "blogs added this week" each Friday (or Saturday maybe), so that you do not have to try to spot the new ones since last time you visited, and can go straight to our new friends' blogs to check them out.

How This Works

1. My aim is to list one blog from each of the Countries/Territories in the Blogspot.com profiles.

2. If your country / territory does not have a blog associated to it, and you would like your blog listed here, please either leave a comment with the URL of the blog you would like listed, or you may email me with your details.

3. If you are from one country / territory and live in another, please let me which one you would like to be considered for.

4. I will check the appropriateness of your blog and then list it here. Sorry, for me to list it, it must be in English.

5. If you know a blogger from a country / Territory in the list below that is vacant, please either ask them to contact me, or let me know their blog site for me to contact.

6. If your country / territory has already been taken, that's OK! If you would like to link to me anyhow, please let me know and I will add your link to the sidebar on the right - in return for a link on your blog of course ;-)

7. The only thing I ask in return for being listed here, is for you to provide a link from your site back to here.
